Making a Difference
 | My name is Mitchell Stanford and I am a Scholar at LCS. Our school gave me the opportunity to help lead a service to Vasona Creek Health Care Center. As scholars, each of the high school age students has a job or responsibility whether it is calling ahead or advertising or gathering supplies. On the morning of the project we wrote cards and drew turkey pictures along with our younger helpers giving praise and encoragement along the way. Then, we walked the few blocks down the street and delivered them in person. It was a great experience. This small act of kindness really made a big difference in these people's holiday. They were so happy. What better way to celebrate Thanksgiving than by giving? I am so glad that I got the opportunity to grow and develop my leadership skills and above all to have a fun time! |
